When we eat, we often do it together. As we take in food that our bodies need, we replenish our souls with conversations of where our day has gone.
But the times are strife. And we can't always be together in the primordial act of eating/existing. So we find that some of our conversations have ended.
Pork-free Pinakbet, Adobong Sitaw, and Tortang Talong are being prepared on a half-dressed table as crooked as the systems in place that ought to allow all Filipinos to eat well.
As we eat today with our friends and families, many still are starving.
